Cultural impact through Telco

 
 

Mobily is a key telco in Saudi Arabia and the GCC Region providing mobile, 4G and Fiber plans to their retail and business customers.

Designit was tasked to re-design a new and holistic brand experience across Mobily’s main channels, positioning them as a central player in the GCC region, while the company and country is going through exciting transformations.

My role.

 

As a Creative Lead, my responsibility was to lead the visual design team through the concept phase to the final delivery.

That included: briefing, challenging and reviewing the design work, Ongoing communication with the client and stakeholders, Regular presentation together with the Project Lead and to support the design effort during the delivery phase.

 
 

Once the research phase was finalizes and our design principles were defined, it was time to get our hands dirty, and fast.

Sticking to our mission, our methodology and Mobily’s brand positioning, we carefully defined two different design concepts that the client had to choose from.

Challenges & Learnings

 
  • 7 months, 16 team members, 3 time zones, pre COVID. At times, aligning was a challenge. Travelling and working side by side was the best solution.

  • A lot of back and forth between UI and UX slowed us down. Sometimes it’s just better to stop, solve the problem, and hop back on the horse.

  • Designing for a different culture had its own challenges, as well as interesting discovering.

  • DLS should be created at the beginning!
